Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email confirming your appointment. This information will be needed in order for the attorney to prepare for your meeting and make the most efficient use of your time.

Estate Planning

Thank you for considering our firm to assist you with securing your legacy. As outlined at the top of this page, the first step is to schedule your consultation.

During the consultation, the attorney will spend time getting to know you and your situation to help determine the best estate planning options for you and your loved ones. Feel free to ask for clarification if you have any questions along the way. Our goal is to ensure that you understand your options and that you feel confident in your estate plan. The more detailed you can be about your family’s situation, the better able we are to design your plan.

Should you decide to move forward with having an estate plan created, we will provide you with a representation agreement which outlines the services you have requested. Once this agreement is signed and the agreed upon payment received, we will schedule a time for you to return to our office and sign your documents.

At this point of the process, you may be asked to provide any additional information that may be needed for the attorney to compose your documents. The Dean Law Firm team will take care of the rest, ensuring your documents are created according to your wishes. The preparation of Estate Planning documents typically takes at least 4 weeks. Here at The Dean Law Firm, each client’s documents are custom made. We know that no two families or people are the same, so we take extra care in developing your plan.

You will have the option to have your documents sent to you a week ahead of signing for your review. If you choose this option, we do require the remaining payment be made prior to sending your documents.

At your signing appointment, plan to spend at least 2 hours in the office. You will have the chance to review your documents as well as discuss any remaining questions with the attorney. Once you are ready, the attorney and legal assistant will walk you through signing each of your documents and having them notarized.

Following your signing appointment, we will schedule a time for you to pick up a portfolio containing your original documents. This is typically a couple of weeks after your signing appointment.

At this point in the process, your estate plan is officially created and working for you. However, we are always available should our clients have any questions or need any updates. As one of our core values at The Dean Law Firm is maintaining on-going relationships with our clients, you remain our top priority.
